Many of our customers asked for expanded VAT features, and now they are here. We are delighted to introduce two new features: GeoDynamic VAT and Reverse Charge (B2B). These developments provide a range of additional options for automatically adjusting VAT based on your customers' countries and/or transferring responsibility for paying VAT to your business customers.
GeoDynamic VAT
With this setting, edoobox identifies the booking person's country from their IP address and adjusts the VAT rate directly. You can publish offers for participants at home and abroad while calculating VAT correctly within the booking. Store the VAT rates for each country you wish to offer and set a default rate for the system to use when it identifies a country for which no rate has yet been entered. Read more about GeoDynamic VAT for details of this feature.
Reverse charge
Reverse charge refers to the reversal of tax liability, whereby the company that provides a service does not pay the sales tax, but rather the recipient of the service pays the sales tax. This function is new in V2 and you have the option to activate the reverse charge individually for the desired countries. Please note that for countries outside the EU, you must legally check whether the reverse charge procedure exists in the respective country.
To use reverse charge during booking, you must collect your customers' VAT numbers through the different billing address. Add the “Billing address” widget to the registration form using the Design Manager. Want to learn more? Read the documentation on Reverse Charge (B2B).
