Open resources as tabs or popovers

In edoobox, supported records can be opened as working tabs or resource popovers. A popover shows a person, booking or invoice over the previous workspace. Linked resources can be opened from there as additional windows.

Choose your personal display preference

Open Settings → System.
Find the Open resources section.
Select Tabs or Popover. The change is saved for your admin identity.
Then open, for example, a person from the customer list or a booking and check the display.

Without a saved selection, Tabs is the default. The setting changes neither access rights nor the appearance of public booking pages. If the settings area is missing, have your admin permissions checked.

Which records does the selection apply to?

As the first resource opened, people, bookings, invoices and promotions in particular support popovers. Links from global search also use resource navigation. Settings themselves open in their respective settings area.

Subscriptions and plugin details use a resource window even when Tabs is selected. A link to a person, booking or invoice newly opened directly in the browser may initially appear as a full page. Within an existing window sequence, further supported resources remain in the popover context; these also include linked offers, categories or admins.

Switch between linked resources

Open a person as a popover and select a linked booking.
Check the new window’s title and tabs before changing data. The previous resource remains behind it.
Close the current window using its close icon to return to the previous one. A Back action is available for this on narrow screens.
With several windows open, select Close all to leave the window sequence and see the original workspace again.

Clicking a resource window visible behind returns to it and closes subsequent windows. Clicking the darkened background closes the whole sequence. The Escape key closes the current resource window; an open selection list is handled first.

Continue working as a full page

For suitable resources, use the action in the window header to open as a full page. edoobox then opens the active record in the normal workspace. This action is not offered for subscriptions, plugins or promotions.

Complete required saving actions first and check visible error messages. A closed window does not generally prove that a form was successfully saved.

If the window limit is reached

edoobox permits up to 15 resource windows. When opening another window, the application asks whether the other windows should be closed. Cancel retains the existing sequence; the new resource is not appended. Close windows you no longer need, then open the required link again.

Example: Check an invoice for a customer query

Support opens a person from global search. With Popover selected, the profile appears over the original page. From there, they open the relevant booking and its invoice. After checking, they close the invoice and booking and continue in the profile. Close all returns them to the original page.
