Design Manager: design the waiting zone
The template Waiting zone designs the page before the actual booking start, if an offer controls access via a waiting zone. Use a Bootstrap-5.3 design for this. This page shows an ongoing queue; the regular waitlist booking is a separate offer process.
Open template and insert components
- Set up the waiting zone for the relevant offer according to the instructions in Offer settings.
- Open the assigned design in the Design Manager and select the Waiting zone template in the body.
- Place Waiting zone status, Waiting zone notes, and Waiting zone actions in this order.
- Configure the options and language texts, save each widget and the layout.
- Open the public booking entry point of the relevant offer.
Configure the three waiting zone widgets
| Widget | Options | Sensible use |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting zone status | Accent colour; show or hide position, estimated waiting time, available places and progress; title, introduction and three status labels in each language. | A concise status card makes the current situation understandable. An estimated waiting time remains an estimate. |
| Waiting zone notes | Note color; leave warning and capacity assessment; texts for waiting, leaving, sold out, open or full waitlist, sufficient or tight capacity. | Explain that upon release, the user is automatically switched to the booking and that leaving may cost the current position. |
| Waiting zone actions | Show refresh and link to offer page separately; color and multilingual label per action. | Manual refresh and a clear way back remain operable. |
Example: Course start with high demand
For a highly demanded course, the status shows position and waiting time. The notice explains: «Keep this page open. Registration starts automatically when it is your turn.» Below are Refresh and To offer page. Capacity information avoids guaranteeing a place, because available places may change while people are queuing.
Check dynamic states
Check the page with free capacity, tight capacity, sold-out offer, and open or full waitlist. Check the transition from the waiting zone to registration. After redirecting, the participant form, prices, and completion must match the same assigned design.
Open mobile and desktop view and each active language. Position, notes, and actions must not be overlapped or cut off even with longer translations.
If the waiting page does not redirect
First check whether the waiting zone is active on the correct offer and whether the public link actually leads to this offer. The page requires the assigned Bootstrap-5.3 design; merely selecting the waiting zone template does not switch an older design.
In case of an interrupted connection, participants use the provided Refresh button. Do not promise a fixed waiting time or a reserved place in your own notes. If a new waiting position is shown after return or expired session, the current display is decisive. After release, check the transition to the actual registration and avoid formulations that refer to entering the waiting zone as a completed booking.
