Plugin Manager: activate and manage extensions
In the Plugin Manager, you select extensions for your edoobox account, review their features and terms, and activate or cancel them. The overview is in the global settings under Plugins, provided this area is enabled for your account.
A plugin adds a feature, for example the Abo-Manager, multi-offers, additional questions and services, custom exports, automations or integrations. The extensions and features displayed in your account are authoritative.
Check access and approvals
- As a Superadmin, open the app menu and then Settings.
- Find Plugins and open that area.
- If the menu item is missing, first check that you are signed in as a Superadmin and clarify availability for your account with edoobox Support.
The Plugin Manager, Bexio and automations have additional account-specific approvals. Such approval makes an area accessible. Whether the extension can actually be used also depends on its activation status and your user permissions. Hiding a menu item does not cancel a plugin that is already running.
Read the plugin overview
Each card shows the name, description, status and price details. Open the card or Details to check the manufacturer, features, monthly price, one-off setup costs and minimum term. An existing contract’s terms may differ from the standard catalogue offer; note the separate price information.
| Display | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| Inactive | The extension is available for selection. Read the terms before activating it. |
| Active | The enabled features can be used according to your permissions. |
| Trial active | The displayed trial period is running. Check the end date and decide in good time whether to continue using it. |
| Deactivation scheduled | Cancellation or deactivation is scheduled. Check the end date and any remaining obligations. |
Activate a plugin
- Open the details view for the required extension.
- Check the features, currency, monthly costs, setup costs and term.
- Select the available activation action or start a trial if offered.
- Read and confirm the dialog containing the current terms.
- Check the new status. Then open the associated workspace and configure it.
If the terms have changed between loading the page and confirming, reload the details view and check the updated information. Only then repeat activation.
Continue after activation
- Abo-Manager: Participant subscriptions, memberships and passes
- Multi-offers and conferences
- Additional questions and additional services
- Export Manager: Custom exports
- Bexio and further integrations
- Set up automations
Activation alone does not publish a finished customer offer. Depending on the extension, check rates, assignments, booking design, templates and the complete workflow.
Additional questions or services are missing
If a feature is missing, check account approval, your admin permissions and its assignment to the offer. Additional questions and services have their own account-specific availability. Access to the Plugin Manager therefore does not yet mean that these areas are enabled in your account.
- Open the app menu and check whether Additional questions and Additional services are present.
- If the entries are missing, ask a superadmin to check the account and permissions. If the feature is offered in the plugin catalogue, read its terms and activation status. If it is not offered there or remains invisible despite an appropriate status, clarify account approval with Support.
- If the areas are available, create the required question or service group and assign it to the specific offer.
- Then check its display in the public booking process. A group without an offer assignment does not ask anything there yet. Set up additional questions and services explains the workflow.
Example: Ask for catering preferences for a course
An organisation wants to add an extra question to the course form. If the workspace itself is missing, the superadmin first checks approval and permissions. If it is visible, they create the question, assign its group to the course and check the question in the booking process. If needed, an extra paid service is configured separately as an additional service.
Which type of subscription do you mean?
| Area | What is it for? |
|---|---|
| edoobox account subscription | Your software plan with features and quantity limits. You manage it under Settings → Subscription. |
| Plugin contract | An additional extension to your account. Its terms and status are in the Plugin Manager. |
| Participant subscription | A membership or pass that you offer your participants. Configure the Abo-Manager for this purpose. |
Even an active plugin does not universally override other account rules and permissions. The permitted number of price categories and a membership requirement for a price are separate settings.
Example: Configure the Abo-Manager for an association
An association reviews the Abo-Manager terms in the Plugin Manager, activates the extension and then creates an annual rate. Only afterwards does it configure the membership requirement on the course price and test bookings with and without a valid membership.
Activation or deactivation does not work
- Menu missing: check account approval and user permissions.
- Status unchanged: read the visible error message and reload the details view.
- Deactivation blocked: for the Abo-Manager, particularly check price categories for membership requirements that are still active.
- Cancellation scheduled: check the end date, ongoing memberships and outstanding payments.
