Progress, loading bar, and processing status
Progress indicators show whether an upload, download, import, export or wizard is still running, has completed successfully or needs your attention. They help prevent premature interruption of long operations.
edoobox uses global progress bars for general data transfers and local progress indicators in specific dialogs, such as file uploads, CAMT imports, participant imports or SAML provider setup.
What progress indicators mean
A percentage shows current progress when edoobox knows the total amount. An indeterminate loading state means an operation is running but no reliable percentage can be displayed.
A bar briefly remaining visible at 100 percent is normal. edoobox often leaves successful operations displayed momentarily before hiding the bar automatically.
100 percent does not always automatically mean success. With a red error status, the visible bar may also reach the end to indicate that the operation has finished but the result needs checking.
Global and local progress
Global progress appears for general API uploads and downloads. Local components show more precise information about a specific operation, such as how many CAMT files have been processed or how far an import has progressed through its data blocks.
If a dialog has its own progress indicator, it is usually more informative than the global progress bar. In such cases, wait until the dialog displays a success message, error list or next action.
File uploads and status colours
For file uploads, edoobox displays progress and status directly in the file manager or upload field. Successful uploads are confirmed; failed uploads appear with an error status.
Only retry failed uploads after checking the file type, file size, internet connection and permissions. For sensitive documents, also take care not to attach the wrong file to a user profile or template.
After successful uploads, the file or resource list often reloads automatically. If a file is not then visible, wait briefly, refresh the list and only then check whether another upload is needed.
CAMT uploads and duplicates
During payment reconciliation using CAMT files, edoobox processes multiple files in turn and distinguishes successful files, failed files and duplicates. Progress increases per fully processed file, not necessarily by file size. A CAMT file already imported should not be processed again.
If red or unassigned entries appear after the import, the upload has not necessarily failed. Successful files may be marked green, faulty files red and duplicate files with a warning. Red or open entries must be checked manually and assigned to an invoice if necessary.
Participant imports and interruptions
When importing participants, edoobox processes records in blocks, for example in batches rather than row by row. Progress may therefore increase in jumps. Do not close the dialog while records are still being processed.
If an import stops, the bar may nevertheless jump to completed. Do not rely on the percentage then; use the counts of imported and failed records. Check the error message, file, mandatory fields, column mapping and duplicates. Details are in Import participant data.
SAML provider steps
When setting up SAML SSO, predefined steps may be displayed, such as provider creation, field mapping, activation and completion. An error status identifies the functional step that could not be completed; the percentage is only guidance within the wizard here.
For SSO errors, also read Enable Single Sign On via SAML in edoobox.
Act appropriately during processing
Wait for success, an error list or the next action before closing the dialog.
Do not reload the page while an upload or import is running.
Do not start the same import multiple times in parallel.
After completion, check the affected table or detail view.
If the operation has finished or been cancelled and the result remains unclear, use “Reload” or open the resource again. Check what has already been saved before repeating the operation.
Example: avoid importing a CAMT file twice
An accounts department uploads three CAMT files. Two finish in green and one is marked as a duplicate. The clerk does not import the duplicate file again, but checks the existing CAMT entries and manually assigns only the open red items.
Progress during offer submission
When saving through an offer submission link, a wizard shows draft creation and file uploads. A failed upload does not automatically mean the offer draft is missing. Check the success message and My submitted offers before entering the same offer again. If retries are offered, use the upload retry for failed files.
