Pause or delete your edoobox account
Under Settings → Subscription, authorized super admins can open the Pause or delete account section. A guided process checks the selection, reason, and email code before the action is finally confirmed.
This function affects the entire edoobox account of your organization. The cancellation of a subscription sold to participants is handled separately in that participant's membership.
Compare pause and deletion
| Action | Effect | Preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Pause account | The account and public booking page are locked during the pause. Data is retained; the previous subscription is automatically reactivated on the chosen end date. | Choose an end date between tomorrow and the limit displayed; the maximum period provided is eight months. |
| Permanently delete account | The account is locked immediately. Final data deletion is scheduled after 30 days. | Export required data and records before confirming. Once permanently deleted, the data cannot be restored. |
Distinguish between non-use, cancellation request, and deletion
If you no longer log in or publish offers, you have not yet confirmed an account pause or deletion in the guided process. Check the current account status and billing; do not assume a contract termination from the absence of new bookings.
- Temporary interruption: Select the account pause with a specific end date. Note the automatic reactivation of the previous package.
- Permanent termination with data removal: Check the displayed action «Permanently delete account» along with the immediate lock and scheduled final deletion.
- Cancellation request with desired retention or a different date: Describe the desired outcome to support and clarify the applicable contract terms in advance. The interface offers the two actions described here; a general separate button «cancel contract only, keep account indefinitely» is not guaranteed.
- Individual plugin or participant subscription: Use its own Plugin contract or the Renewal and cancellation management of the participant subscription. This is a different decision than terminating the entire organization account.
Before permanently closing the account, save the edoobox account receipts, along with any required participant invoices and exports. Stopping use or deleting data does not mark an outstanding balance as paid.
Check before the action
- The responsible Superadmin can receive email at their own address.
- Outstanding bookings, payments and active integrations have been reviewed and resolved as needed.
- The public website must not assume a continuing functional booking process during the pause or after deletion.
- Required invoices, account receipts, exports and data have been saved beforehand.
- For a pause, the end date and renewed subscription use are coordinated internally.
Select and confirm the action
- Open Settings → Subscription → Pause or delete account.
- Select Take a pause or Permanently delete account.
- Enter a reason. For a pause, select a valid end date within the offered range.
- Click on Send confirmation code by email. Sending the code does not yet execute the action.
- Enter the six-digit code from your email and select Verify code. The code is valid for 15 minutes.
- Check the action, reason, and for a pause the end date in the summary.
- Confirm the displayed declaration and then Pause account or Permanently delete account.
Select Edit details to return before the final confirmation. If you close the process without confirming the final step, sending the code alone does not pause or delete the account.
Fix code and approval errors
- Wrong code: Check the six digits of the latest email.
- Expired or too many wrong entries: Request a new code after the displayed waiting time and confirm again.
- Invalid pause date: Select a date between tomorrow and the displayed maximum limit.
- Confirmation expired: Repeat the email check before the final step.
- Pause or deletion not possible: Check the specific message and contact support if there is an existing account lock.
Billing during and after a pause
Pausing creates a separate pause subscription and saves the previous package for reactivation. The current billing position is taken into account. Outstanding financial items are not marked as paid as a result.
Automatic monthly card charges and their retries skip paused accounts. Before the pause ends, check the saved card, billing email address and account journal so that billing can resume smoothly. The card payment process is explained in Automatic payment with a saved credit card.
Example: Seasonal operation paused
A seasonal provider first completes its ongoing bookings and downloads the required records. The Superadmin selects a pause ending shortly before the next season, verifies the email code and confirms the date and declaration. Before resuming, the team checks the account, booking page, invoices and payment methods.
