Notifications, real-time updates, and uploads
Many edoobox views display notices, loading indicators or updates that do not belong to a single menu. This page explains how to recognise these interface states and when the underlying functional view needs checking.
Success, warning and error messages
A success message may report that an action was accepted or started. For a background task, the result is only available after completion. Read the message text and check the record, generated file or task progress. Warnings and errors indicate missing information, permissions or a state in which an action cannot be performed.
Real-time updates
Changes from other tabs or admins may appear automatically. Notifications for bookings and their accompanying sound can be adjusted per admin under Global settings → System → Notifications. Disabling a notification does not prevent a booking. If information conflicts, reload the table and check whether a second admin was working simultaneously.
Loading indicators and background processing
Exports, uploads, translations and larger updates may show a loading state. Wait for completion or an error message and do not start the same action multiple times.
Upload safely
Check the file type, size and contents.
Use clear filenames without additional confidential information.
Wait for confirmation before closing the window.
Then check that the file is visible in the correct resource.
Language and icons
Texts follow the active admin language. Icons often indicate actions such as edit, delete, email, download or further options. Use the tooltip and context when the meaning is unclear.
For repeated problems
Note the affected view, time, steps and visible message. For reproducible feedback, use Feedback and support diagnostics.
Example: an upload remains in a loading state
An admin first waits for the interface response, then checks the file size and connection. Instead of starting the upload repeatedly, they document the time and view and repeat the operation with a small test file.
Handle duplicate notices in the appropriate place
A duplicate notice indicates possible duplicate participant profiles. Open the duplicate search wizard and compare the candidates, fields and affected operations. Confirm the merge only when both profiles represent the same person. Afterwards, check the surviving profile and its bookings; a match score alone does not prove the people are identical.
